TRUE SHIFT Attack DLC 3mm Goalie Skate Steel combines the familiar 3mm goalie-runner width with a hard diamond-like carbon coating. TRUE designed the coating to reduce damage from repeated contact with posts while maintaining a lightweight runner for lateral crease movement. The blades fit compatible two-piece SHIFT Attack holders, and the current TGC listing offers senior-labelled sizes 6 through 12.

Sharpening coated steel

Confirm the size stamped on the original runner or holder before ordering. A technician familiar with coated steel should sharpen the bottom edge while avoiding excessive contact with the dark sidewalls. The desired hollow may differ from an uncoated or 4mm runner, so start from the goalie’s established setup and adjust gradually. Dry the steel after every session and check that both blades lock securely into the holders.
