Warrior Goalie Chest Protectors for Every Age and Level
Warrior goalie chest protectors are designed to protect the chest, stomach, shoulders, ribs, arms and elbows while preserving the mobility required to move the catcher and blocker naturally. The right model should provide dependable coverage without forcing the goalie into a restricted stance or interfering with head movement.
The Warrior chest protector collection at The Goalie Crease includes equipment for young beginners, developing junior goalies, intermediate players and adult or competitive senior goalies.
Depending on current availability, this collection may include:
- Warrior X5 Youth chest and arm protector
- Warrior X5 Junior chest and arm protector
- Warrior X5 Pro Intermediate chest protector
- Warrior X5 Pro Senior chest protector
- Warrior X5 RTL Intermediate Pro chest protector
- Warrior X5 RTL Senior Pro chest protector
- Warrior X4 Pro Senior chest protector
Availability, sizing and sale pricing can change as inventory is sold. A previous-generation model can offer excellent value, but only when its measurements and protection level suit the goalie.
Warrior X5 Pro Senior Chest Protector
The
Warrior X5 Pro Senior chest protector
combines high-level impact protection with the mobile arm construction associated with Warriorโs Ritual protective equipment.
Its internal protection package uses high-density foams and HDPE plastics to help absorb impacts throughout the chest and arms. HyperComp reinforcement is used in important areas to add protection without creating unnecessary weight.
Warriorโs AxyFlex arm design gives the sleeves a streamlined shape intended to preserve glove-hand movement. The goalie should be able to extend, rotate and bring the arms across the body without the chest protector feeling excessively rigid.
CoverEDGE+ shoulder floaters extend coverage across the upper body. Their height and positioning can be adjusted, allowing the goalie to refine coverage while maintaining clearance around the mask.
The Bone System adds protection around the backs and sides of the arms. Neoprene connections between the triceps, elbow and forearm areas help reduce openings and keep the arm positioned inside the sleeve during RVH play and saves from difficult angles.
Additional X5 Pro Senior features include:
- Adjustable shoulders and shoulder-floater height
- Adjustable backplate, sides and torso
- Removable front and side body extensions
- Removable air-mesh arm liners
- Suspender-retention loops on the shoulder floaters
- Streamlined arm and shoulder construction
The X5 Pro Senior may suit competitive and frequent-use adult goalies who want substantial protection with a mobile, adjustable fit.
Warrior X5 Pro Intermediate Chest Protector
The
Warrior X5 Pro Intermediate chest protector
brings many of the senior modelโs protection and adjustment features into dimensions suited to growing goalies and smaller body types.
Its internal construction uses HD foams and HDPE plastic to protect the torso and arms. CoverEDGE+ shoulder floaters add upper-body coverage, while removable shoulder padding allows the height to be adjusted.
The AxyFlex arm design helps intermediate goalies maintain catcher and blocker mobility. Neoprene connections between the arm components help reduce gaps and keep the elbow and forearm protection aligned.
Adjustment points around the shoulders, backplate, sides and torso allow the fit to be refined. These adjustments can provide reasonable growing room when the chest protector begins in the correct size.
The X5 Pro Intermediate may be appropriate for competitive teenage goalies who need more protection than junior equipment but do not yet fit securely into a senior chest protector.
Warrior X5 RTL Senior Pro Chest Protector
The
Warrior X5 RTL Senior Pro chest protector
is the premium Warrior chest protector represented in this collection.
It emphasizes high-level internal protection, broad shoulder coverage and extensive adjustment. Strategically positioned HyperComp and high-density foams help protect the chest, shoulders, arms and other important impact areas.
The X5 RTL uses Warriorโs AxyFlex construction to balance protection with arm movement. Its extended sternum block provides additional coverage through the centre of the torso while including a flexible break below the ribs to preserve movement.
Thicker protection around the elbows and backs of the biceps helps protect against poor-angle shots and impacts experienced while using the RVH. The maximum-coverage shoulder floaters include removable padding that allows their height and overall presentation to be adjusted.
The X5 RTL Senior also includes:
- Adjustable arm length
- Adjustable shoulder positioning
- Multiple backplate settings
- Removable front and side chest extensions
- Extended sternum and torso protection
- Suspender-retention loops
This model may suit high-level senior goalies who regularly face hard shots and want Warriorโs most protection-focused chest and arm package.
Warrior X5 RTL Intermediate Pro Chest Protector
The
Warrior X5 RTL Intermediate Pro chest protector
combines RTL protection concepts with an intermediate-sized torso and arm fit.
HyperComp and high-density foams are placed throughout the unit to manage impacts. CoverEDGE+ shoulder floaters extend upper-body coverage, while the Bone System adds protection around the arms during low-angle and RVH saves.
Warriorโs AxyFlex2 arm design provides streamlined movement through the sleeves. Neoprene connections between the triceps, elbow and forearm protection help close gaps and keep the arm secure.
The shoulders, backplate, sides and torso can be adjusted using accessible hook-and-loop connections. Removable shoulder padding can also be used to refine overall height and mask clearance.
The RTL Intermediate may suit high-level teenage goalies who face harder shots but still require smaller body and sleeve dimensions than a senior model.
Warrior X5 Junior Chest and Arm Protector
The
Warrior X5 Junior chest and arm protector
is designed for developing goalies who need junior dimensions and a manageable overall weight.
Its lightweight core helps younger players move their arms and upper bodies without being overwhelmed by bulky equipment. The unit provides coverage across the shoulders, biceps and torso, with moulded elbow caps protecting the arms.
CoverEDGE+ shoulder construction adds upper-body coverage, while AxyFlex2 supports mobility through the arms. Warriorโs Bone System provides additional padding behind the arms.
Easy adjustments allow the shoulders, body and backplate to be secured around the individual goalie. A removable foam component provides additional shoulder-height adjustment.
The X5 Junior may suit recreational or competitive developing goalies who need a balance of protection, mobility and adjustment without moving into intermediate equipment too early.
Warrior X5 Youth Chest and Arm Protector
The
Warrior X5 Youth chest and arm protector
is made for smaller, younger goalies learning the position.
It uses lightweight construction with protection around the shoulders, biceps, chest and torso. Moulded elbow caps help protect against direct and off-angle impacts without making the sleeves excessively difficult for a young goalie to move.
An extended sternum block increases central torso coverage and uses a flexible break below the sternum. HDPE plastics and high-density foams are used through the internal protection package.
The shoulders and backplate can be adjusted using straightforward hook-and-loop connections. A breathable, moisture-managing liner helps improve comfort during practices and games.
Youth chest protectors should fit the childโs current torso and arm measurements. Purchasing a significantly oversized unit can move the elbows outside the intended protection and interfere with glove and mask positioning.
Warrior X4 Pro Senior Chest Protector
The
Warrior X4 Pro Senior chest protector
is a previous-generation model that may remain available in selected sizes at a reduced price.
The X4 Pro uses streamlined arms and shoulders to support mobility. AxyFlex Light construction helps the unit move naturally, while Shockshield bicep protection adds coverage around the upper arms.
X-Foam and HyperComp reinforcement are used in important impact areas. Side adjustments, laced-in arms, adjustable backplate positioning and removable body-length extensions allow the fit to be personalized.
The X4 Pro can provide strong value for a senior goalie whose measurements match the available inventory. Discounted equipment should still be selected according to fit and protection rather than price alone.
Warrior X5 Pro vs. X5 RTL
The X5 Pro and X5 RTL are both performance-focused Warrior chest protectors, but the RTL places greater emphasis on protection, material upgrades and professional-level coverage.
Warrior X5 Pro
- HD foam and HDPE internal protection
- AxyFlex streamlined arms
- CoverEDGE+ shoulder floaters
- Bone System arm protection
- Extensive fit adjustment
- Available in senior and intermediate sizing
- Strong balance of protection, mobility and price
Warrior X5 RTL
- Higher-level HyperComp and HD foam package
- Maximum-coverage shoulder floaters
- Extended sternum and torso coverage
- Enhanced RVH and poor-angle arm protection
- AxyFlex or AxyFlex2 arm mobility
- Extensive body, arm and backplate adjustment
- Designed for higher-level shot exposure
The X5 Pro may provide the best balance for many competitive goalies. The X5 RTL may be more appropriate for goalies facing high-speed shots who prioritize the most substantial Warrior protection package.
Warrior X5 Pro vs. X4 Pro
The X5 Pro is the newer generation, while the X4 Pro remains a capable previous-generation option where sizes are available.
Both models use mobile arm construction, adjustable body components and protective reinforcement. The X5 Pro adds the newer CoverEDGE+ and Bone System concepts and uses the current X5 fit package.
The X4 Pro may be an attractive clearance option, but the X5 Pro may offer the better long-term choice for goalies who want the current Warrior design and easier access to matching product information.
Senior Warrior Goalie Chest Protectors
Senior Warrior chest protectors are generally designed around adult-sized torsos, shoulders and arms. The current collection may include X5 Pro, X5 RTL and X4 Pro senior options.
Senior sizing does not automatically mean the equipment is appropriate for every adult. Chest circumference, arm length, torso length, shoulder width and body proportions must all be considered.

Intermediate Warrior Goalie Chest Protectors
Intermediate Warrior chest protectors are intended for growing players who need more coverage than junior equipment but do not yet fit securely into a senior unit.
The X5 Pro Intermediate and X5 RTL Intermediate provide different protection levels within appropriately reduced body and arm dimensions.

Junior and Youth Warrior Chest Protectors
Junior and youth models use smaller torso, arm and shoulder dimensions for younger players. Their lighter construction helps developing goalies move naturally while learning the position.
Junior and youth equipment should not be selected by age alone. Height, chest circumference, torso length and arm span should all be reviewed.

How Should a Warrior Goalie Chest Protector Fit?
A Warrior chest protector should cover the upper body without leaving significant openings or preventing the goalie from moving naturally.
Important fitting areas include:
- Shoulder-floater position
- Sternum and chest coverage
- Stomach and rib protection
- Arm and sleeve length
- Elbow position inside the cradle
- Wrist overlap with the catcher and blocker
- Mask clearance around the neckline
- Overlap with the goalie pants
The elbow should remain centred inside the elbow protection when the arm bends, extends or moves across the body. The lower arm protection should reach toward the glove cuffs without pushing the gloves away from their natural position.
Measuring for a Warrior Chest Protector
Manufacturer sizing charts provide a useful starting point, but actual body measurements and proportions determine the correct fit.
Helpful sizing information includes:
- Goalie age and height
- Chest circumference
- Torso length
- Arm span
- Shoulder-to-wrist measurement
- Current chest protector model and size
- Current goalie pant size
- Playing level and shot exposure
A goalie with longer arms may need different adjustments from another player of the same height. Similarly, broad shoulders or a shorter torso can change how a listed size fits.
AxyFlex and AxyFlex2 Arm Mobility
Warrior uses AxyFlex construction to create streamlined arms that preserve catcher and blocker movement. AxyFlex2 is used on selected models to further refine mobility while maintaining protective alignment.
A mobile chest protector should allow the goalie to:
- Hold both hands comfortably in front of the body
- Raise and extend the catcher and blocker
- Reach across the torso
- Rotate toward either post
- Bring the gloves together for puck coverage
- Recover without the sleeves binding
Mobility should not come at the expense of proper elbow and arm positioning. The protective sections must remain aligned throughout movement.
CoverEDGE+ Shoulder Floaters
Warriorโs CoverEDGE+ shoulder floaters are designed to increase upper-body coverage. Depending on the model, removable padding and adjustable connections allow the height and presentation to be personalized.
The floaters should remain properly positioned without repeatedly contacting the goalie mask. The goalie must be able to look down, rotate toward both posts and track shots without the mask catching on the shoulders.
Warrior Bone System and RVH Protection
The Bone System adds protection along the backs and sides of the arms. This is particularly relevant when the goalie is using the RVH and the arms may be exposed to shots from poor angles.
Neoprene connections between the triceps, elbow and forearm components help reduce openings and keep the arm inside the sleeve. These sections should remain comfortably aligned rather than feeling twisted or overly tight.
Adjusting a Warrior Chest Protector
Warrior chest protectors may include adjustments around the shoulders, arms, backplate, sides and lower torso. These systems help refine the fit of an appropriately sized unit.
Adjust the chest protector while wearing the base layer and goalie pants normally used on the ice. Check the fit in a stance, butterfly and recovery position.
Straps should be secure without being overtightened. Excess tension can pull protective components out of position or reduce breathing and mobility.
Compatibility With Catchers and Blockers
The chest protector sleeves should overlap comfortably with the catcher and blocker cuffs. Arms that are too long may push the gloves away from the body, while arms that are too short can leave unwanted wrist gaps.

The gloves and chest protector do not need to be from the same manufacturer. Each item should be chosen according to its fit and how the complete setup works together.
Compatibility With Goalie Pants
The lower torso of the chest protector must overlap correctly with the goalie pants. A major gap around the stomach or sides can indicate that one or both pieces are incorrectly sized or adjusted.
Warrior chest protectors may be worn tucked into the pants or untucked over the outside. The best method depends on the goalieโs body type, pant design and preferred feel.

Goalie Mask Clearance
The neckline and shoulder floaters should allow the goalie mask to move freely. The goalie must be able to look downward and turn toward both posts without the chest protector lifting or catching the mask.

Caring for a Warrior Chest Protector
Remove the chest protector from the equipment bag after every practice and game. Open the straps and allow the arms, body and internal liner to dry fully in a ventilated area.
Selected Warrior models use removable air-mesh arm liners, which can make regular cleaning and drying easier. Always follow the manufacturerโs care instructions.
Inspect the equipment regularly for:
- Stretched or damaged straps
- Broken buckles or attachment points
- Torn external materials
- Compressed or damaged protective foam
- Loose shoulder or arm components
- Elbow cradles that no longer remain secure
- Changes in fit caused by growth or wear
When Should a Goalie Chest Protector Be Replaced?
A Warrior chest protector may need replacement when it no longer fits, important protective components have deteriorated or the adjustment systems can no longer keep the equipment securely positioned.
Warning signs include:
- Arms that have become too short or restrictive
- Elbows moving outside the elbow cradles
- Shoulder floaters that no longer remain aligned
- Large gaps between the chest protector and pants
- Damaged or heavily compressed foam
- Straps or attachment points that cannot be repaired securely
- Protection that is no longer appropriate for the level of play
Choosing the Right Warrior Chest Protector
When comparing Warrior goalie chest protectors, consider:
- Youth, junior, intermediate or senior sizing
- Chest, torso and arm measurements
- Elbow positioning
- X5 Pro, X5 RTL or X4 Pro construction
- Required protection for the shots being faced
- Arm mobility and glove positioning
- Shoulder-floater adjustment
- Compatibility with the mask, gloves and pants
- Playing level and frequency of use
- Current-generation or clearance pricing
Proper fit should take priority over purchasing the highest-level model or leaving excessive space for growth. Protective components perform best when they remain aligned with the goalieโs body.
