is the highest-level CCM mask currently represented in this collection. It is designed for experienced senior goalies seeking a premium combination of shell construction, airflow, comfort and impact management.
The Axis XF uses an Exoshell composite shell with carbon-fibre construction and strategically shaped deflection points. The shell is designed to provide a strong protective structure while directing impacts away from vulnerable areas of the face and head.
CCM’s AER-TEC ventilation system works with the NEST TECH liner to promote airflow inside the mask. Strategic vent placement helps move air through the shell and liner while the goalie is playing.
A shock-dampening system places impact-absorbing inserts beneath the cage attachment areas. The Axis XF also includes a triple-density chin cup with D3O material and a stainless steel certified cage.
This model may suit competitive senior goalies who regularly face harder shots and want CCM’s premium mask construction and liner technology.
CCM Axis F9 Senior Goalie Mask
The
CCM Axis F9 Senior goalie mask
provides a performance-focused option for senior goalies who want substantial protection and ventilation at a lower price point than the Axis XF.
The Axis F9 uses an Exoshell fiberglass shell shaped with strategic impact and puck-deflection areas around the chin, forehead and face. Its vent-hole placement is designed to improve airflow through the shell.
Inside the mask, CCM combines a VN foam liner with I.Q.Shion DRI and D3O materials to provide comfort and impact absorption. The liner is shaped to complement the mask’s ventilation system and maintain airflow around the goalie’s head.
The F9 also uses CCM’s shock-dampening cage system, a triple-density chin cup with D3O material and a stainless steel certified cage.
This model may be appropriate for competitive, high-school, junior or frequent-use adult goalies who need a protective fiberglass mask but do not require the composite shell and premium liner system used in the Axis XF.
CCM Axis F5 Youth Goalie Mask
The
CCM Axis F5 Youth goalie mask
is designed for younger goalies who are beginning the position and need an age-appropriate mask with a manageable fit and adjustment system.
The Axis F5 Youth uses a polycarbonate shell shaped to help deflect pucks away from key impact zones. Strategically positioned ventilation openings help improve airflow through the mask.
A multi-layer VN foam liner provides a comfortable internal fit, while the carbon steel cage is positioned to provide coverage and visibility for young goalies.
CCM designed the adjustment system to be easier for children and parents to operate. An adjustable foam chin cup and removable sweatband help improve fit and comfort.
The Axis F5 Youth should be used only when it fits the goalie properly and is appropriate for the age and level of shots being faced. Young goalies should not move into an oversized junior or senior mask simply to allow for additional growth.

How Should a CCM Goalie Mask Fit?
A CCM goalie mask should fit snugly and move with the goalie’s head. It should not slide independently when the goalie looks up, down or from side to side.

- Chin placement inside the chin cup

CCM AER-TEC Mask Ventilation
The Axis XF and Axis F9 use CCM’s AER-TEC ventilation approach. Vent openings and liner channels are positioned to improve airflow through the mask during play.
Ventilation can improve comfort, but it does not replace proper equipment care. After every use, remove the mask from the bag and allow it to dry completely in a ventilated area.
Goalie Mask Cage Visibility
The cage should provide clear sightlines while maintaining appropriate coverage. The goalie should be able to track the puck without needing to raise or lower the mask unnaturally.
