CCM 1.9 Intermediate Goalie Pants
The
CCM 1.9 Intermediate goalie pants
are a previous-generation CCM model that may remain available in selected sizes.
The 1.9 uses Max Flex Fit construction, an internal belt system and segmented protection through the hip and groin areas. It also includes moulded waist and thigh protection, stretch zones and a concealed zipper that can add an inch of length.
This model may provide strong value for a goalie whose measurements match the remaining inventory. Availability can be limited because it is an older CCM pant generation.
Clearance pricing should not replace proper sizing. A discounted pant is only a good value when it fits securely and provides suitable coverage.

How Should CCM Goalie Pants Fit?
CCM goalie pants should sit securely around the waist while leaving enough room for a goalie jock or jill, base layers and the lower portion of the chest protector.
Important fitting areas include:
- Waist measurement and internal belt adjustment
- Overall pant length
- Hip, kidney and groin coverage
- Thigh protection positioning
- Room for a goalie jock or jill
- Overlap with the chest protector
- Clearance above the knee guards and leg pads
- Freedom through the hips and upper legs
Pants that are too small may restrict movement or leave unwanted gaps. Pants that are too large may rotate, drop around the waist or interfere with the leg pads.
CCM FIT+ Inner Belt System
Several current CCM goalie pants use the FIT+ internal belt system. The internal belt helps secure the pants around the goalie’s waist while allowing the outer protective shell to maintain its coverage.
This can be useful for goalies who prefer a roomy exterior fit or tuck their chest protector into the pants. It also allows the goalie to adjust waist security independently from the outer shell.
The belt should be snug enough to hold the pants in position without restricting breathing, bending or movement through the hips.
CCM Max Flex Fit
Max Flex Fit is used across CCM’s current XF, F9 and F5 goalie pants. It combines protective coverage with segmented areas intended to flex during dynamic goalie movement.
A mobile pant should allow the goalie to:
- Hold a wide and balanced stance
- Drop into the butterfly without resistance
- Rotate through the hips
- Push laterally across the crease
- Recover to the feet without the pants shifting
- Move the knees freely underneath the thigh protection
Evaluate the pants while wearing the complete lower-body setup rather than trying them on without knee guards, a jock or jill and leg pads.
Goalie Pant Length Extensions
Selected CCM pants include a concealed zipper that can add approximately one inch to the overall length. This can help when the waist size fits correctly but additional thigh length is required.
A length extension cannot correct pants that are fundamentally too small through the waist, hips or upper legs. The adjustment should be considered part of the fitting range rather than a substitute for choosing the correct size.
Adjustable Thigh Protection
Selected CCM models allow the inner and outer thigh protection to be adjusted. Proper positioning helps maintain coverage while reducing interference with the knee guards and upper portions of the leg pads.
Thigh protection that hangs too low may contact the pads or restrict the butterfly. Protection positioned too high may leave a larger gap above the knee guards.
Tucking or Untucking a Chest Protector
CCM goalie pants can be worn with the chest protector tucked into the waist or untucked over the outside. The correct setup depends on the goalie’s body shape, equipment models and preferred feel.
Tucking can create a connected fit between the upper- and lower-body equipment. Wearing the chest protector untucked may provide more freedom around the waist.
