The Pro Spec chest protector also includes CCM’s AER-TEC ventilation system, adjustable elbows and a fight strap that can be used to help anchor the back of the unit. It is best suited to senior goalies who regularly face hard shots and place protection at the top of their priorities.

CCM EFlex 7 Pro Senior chest protector
combines high-level impact protection with the mobile fit associated with CCM’s EFlex equipment family.
The EFlex 7 Pro uses CCM’s Max Flex Fit, with optimized flex points and adjustment areas intended to balance net coverage with movement. Moulded high-density foams and D3O protection are used in critical impact areas.
Additional features include AER-TEC ventilation, ADPTFIT adjustable elbows, extended rib coverage, adjustable shoulder-floater height and adjustable arm length. A removable lower belly section allows the goalie to further personalize the torso length and overlap with the pants.

CCM EFlex 7.9 Senior Chest Protector

CCM EFlex 7.9 Senior chest protector
offers many of the fit and mobility concepts found in the EFlex family at a lower price point than the professional-level model.
The EFlex 7.9 uses a Max Flex Fit with segmented high- and low-density foams positioned throughout the chest, ribs and arms. Compression-moulded high-density foam is used in areas such as the shoulders, biceps and forearms to balance protection with flexibility.
Adjustable elbows, shoulder floaters and chest height help goalies personalize the fit. The removable belly pad can also be used to adjust the lower torso coverage. CCM’s AER-TEC system uses perforated foams and mesh zones to improve airflow through the unit.
This model may suit competitive or frequent-use senior goalies who want strong coverage, adjustability and mobility without requiring the full protection package of the EFlex 7 Pro or NHL Pro Spec.
CCM EFlex 7.9 Intermediate Chest Protector

CCM EFlex 7.9 Intermediate chest protector
is designed for developing goalies who need a smaller body and arm fit than a senior model while still requiring dependable protection for competitive hockey.
It uses the Max Flex Fit design to provide broad upper-body coverage while tapering through the body for mobility. The ADPTFIT elbow system provides multiple adjustment points and helps keep the elbow securely positioned inside the intended protective area.
High-density foam is used through important impact zones, including the ribs, chest, shoulders and arms. The AER-TEC ventilation system uses perforated foams and mesh panels to improve airflow, while the removable belly section and other adjustment points allow the fit to be personalized.

CCM Phenom Junior Chest Protector
The
CCM Phenom Junior chest protector
is designed specifically for younger goalies who need manageable protection that does not make learning crease movement unnecessarily difficult.
Moulded PE foam helps absorb impact, while the segmented square-shaped design provides body coverage with enough flexibility for developing players to move their arms and upper body.
The three-piece construction combines protective coverage with a lighter, more mobile feel. An anatomical elbow cup helps keep the arm properly positioned, while the adjustable shoulder height, arm length and torso system allows the equipment to be fitted as the goalie develops.

How Should a CCM Goalie Chest Protector Fit?
A CCM goalie chest protector should cover the chest, shoulders, ribs, arms, elbows and lower torso without leaving major gaps or restricting the goalie’s movement.
Important fitting areas include:
- Shoulder-floater positioning
- Chest and stomach coverage
- Arm and sleeve length
- Elbow placement inside the elbow cradle
- Wrist overlap with the catcher and blocker
- Mask clearance around the neck and shoulders
- Overlap with the goalie pants
- Mobility when reaching and recovering
The elbow should remain centred in the elbow cradle when the goalie bends and extends the arm. The lower arm protection should reach toward the glove cuff without pushing the catcher or blocker away from its natural position.
Adjusting the Arms, Elbows and Shoulder Floaters
Many CCM chest protectors include adjustment points around the elbows, arms, shoulders, back and lower torso. These adjustments are intended to refine an already appropriate size rather than compensate for equipment that is fundamentally too large or too small.
Adjust the unit while wearing the base layer, goalie pants and gloves normally used on the ice. Check the fit while standing, crouching, reaching across the body and dropping into the butterfly.
The straps should hold the protective components securely without creating painful pressure or limiting circulation and movement.
CCM AER-TEC Ventilation
Several CCM EFlex and Pro Spec chest protectors use AER-TEC ventilation. Depending on the model, this can include perforated foams, mesh ventilation zones and ventilated back protection.
Ventilation does not replace proper equipment care. The chest protector should still be removed from the bag and allowed to dry fully after every practice and game.
D3O and High-Density Foam Protection
Selected high-level CCM chest protectors use D3O material in critical impact areas such as the sternum. CCM also uses moulded and segmented high-density foams throughout areas such as the chest, shoulders, arms and ribs.
Protection should be selected according to the speed and frequency of the shots being faced. A younger recreational goalie may not require the same construction as an adult or elite-level goalie regularly facing high-speed shots.
Wearing a CCM Chest Protector With Goalie Pants
A CCM chest protector can be worn tucked into the goalie pants or untucked over the outside, depending on the model, body shape and goalie’s preference.
The chest protector and pants should overlap without leaving an exposed area around the stomach or waist. The pants should not push the chest protector upward toward the mask or cause the shoulder floaters to rise out of position.

The chest protector sleeves must work comfortably with the goalie’s catcher and blocker. Arms that are too long can push the gloves away from their preferred position, while arms that are too short may leave unwanted wrist gaps.
