The Nash Leather Chamois Cloth is a deerhide leather finishing cloth for honing goalie skate steel after sharpening or minor edge maintenance. Its soft leather surface makes it a useful option for carefully removing light residue and finishing runners, with particular value for black steel where aggressive conventional stones can affect the coated side surface.
Nash skate-steel chamois features
- Deerhide leather: Provides a soft material for controlled finishing work on skate runners.
- Edge-honing use: Helps complete routine steel maintenance after sharpening.
- Black-steel friendly option: Offers a gentler approach for runners with coated side surfaces.
- Compact maintenance tool: Fits easily in a goalie equipment or skate-care bag.
- Reusable cloth: Can be kept dry and clean for repeated light finishing tasks.
Using a leather chamois on skate runners
Dry the runner and inspect it in good light. Draw the leather carefully along the steel using controlled pressure, keeping fingers clear of the sharpened edges. The cloth is intended for light honing and finishing, not for correcting major edge damage or replacing a professional sharpening.
Keep the chamois free of grit that could mark the runner. Have bent, cracked or severely damaged steel assessed by an experienced skate technician.
