TRUE Goalie Equipment for Competitive and Developing Goalies
TRUE offers a broad selection of goalie equipment for young developing players, competitive teenage goalies, adult recreational players and experienced high-level athletes. The TRUE collection at The Goalie Crease includes equipment for nearly every part of the setup, from leg pads and gloves to skates, sticks and goalie pants.
Available equipment may include current models, previous-generation products, custom-built gear and selected clearance items. Product availability, sizing, colours and hand orientation can change as equipment is sold.
Because The Goalie Crease specializes exclusively in goalie equipment, our team can help you compare TRUE models and understand how each piece may interact with the rest of your setup.
TRUE and Lefevre Goalie Equipment
TRUE’s goalie pad and glove program combines the TRUE brand with the goalie-equipment experience associated with Lefevre. This partnership has produced retail and custom equipment across the Catalyst and HZRDUS families.
TRUE goalie gear is available at several equipment levels. Depending on the model, goalies can choose from professional custom-built equipment, high-performance retail gear and more accessible options for developing or recreational players.
The best TRUE equipment is not automatically the highest-priced model. Fit, construction, playing level, stiffness and personal preference should determine which product is right for the individual goalie.
Compare TRUE Catalyst and HZRDUS Goalie Gear
Catalyst and HZRDUS are the two primary equipment families represented throughout the current TRUE goalie collection. Each family includes different models, generations and performance levels.
TRUE Catalyst Goalie Equipment
The TRUE Catalyst family includes leg pads, catchers, blockers, skates and goalie pants. Current and recent models represented at The Goalie Crease may include Catalyst 7X6, 5X6, Nitro, 7X4, L87, PX5 and other previous-generation Catalyst equipment.
The current Catalyst 7X6 pad uses a thin, stiff core with a softer boot and TRUE’s FRS strapping system. Matching 7X6 catchers and blockers are available in selected senior and intermediate configurations.
Catalyst 5X6 equipment provides a more accessible performance option. Depending on current inventory, the 5X6 family may include leg pads, catchers and goalie skates in multiple size categories.
Catalyst Nitro equipment is positioned toward goalies looking for more performance-focused construction. Available Nitro products may include professional catchers, blockers and goalie skates.
TRUE HZRDUS Goalie Equipment
The TRUE HZRDUS family includes leg pads, catchers, blockers and composite goalie sticks. Available models may include HZRDUS PX4 professional equipment, HZRDUS 7X4 retail gear and HZRDUS Smoke goalie sticks.
HZRDUS leg pads use a firm, modern construction designed for goalies looking for strong ice coverage and an active response. The HZRDUS 7X4 pad uses a reinforced thigh-rise core and a more rigid knee stack to help the pad seal securely along the ice.
Matching HZRDUS catchers and blockers are available in selected senior, intermediate and junior models. HZRDUS Smoke sticks provide several performance and price levels for goalies looking for TRUE composite stick construction.
TRUE Catalyst 7X6 Goalie Gear
The Catalyst 7X6 family is a current TRUE equipment line represented across several categories at The Goalie Crease. Depending on availability, goalies may be able to build a coordinated setup using 7X6 pads, catchers, blockers and skates.
TRUE Catalyst 7X6 leg pads feature:
- A thin, stiff internal pad core
- A softer boot construction
- TRUE FRS leg-channel strapping
- A Jenpro toe bridge
- A ProLaces-style bungee toe attachment
- Senior and intermediate size options
The 7X6 blocker uses a bindingless blocker board, a mobile half-piece wrist cuff and a Suregrip palm. Its inner cuff and thumb protection are designed to create a secure connection between the hand and blocker board.
Available 7X6 catchers may use different sizing and glove specifications. Catcher fit, break and closure should be evaluated independently from the matching pads and blocker.
TRUE Catalyst 5X6 Goalie Gear
TRUE Catalyst 5X6 equipment provides a performance-oriented retail option at a more accessible price than custom professional gear. Current products may include senior leg pads, senior catchers and junior, intermediate or senior goalie skates.
The Catalyst 5X6 catcher uses a 590-style break with a rounded catching surface, a Suregrip palm and a double-T pocket with skate lace. This may appeal to goalies who prefer the hand position and closure associated with that break design.
Catalyst 5X6 skates use TRUE’s moulded boot approach and goalie-specific holder system. Skate fit should be based on measured foot length, width, heel shape and overall volume rather than everyday shoe size alone.
TRUE Catalyst Nitro Equipment
The Catalyst Nitro family includes selected professional and retail goalie products. Depending on current inventory, this may include Nitro Pro catchers, Nitro Pro blockers, junior catchers and premium goalie skates.
Nitro gloves are intended for goalies looking for a performance-focused setup with TRUE and Lefevre design characteristics. Catcher specifications can vary, so goalies should confirm the break, internal hand fit, palm protection and pocket construction before ordering.
Nitro blockers should be selected according to palm size, hand position, board balance and cuff preference. Matching graphics do not guarantee that the catcher and blocker will both fit the same goalie correctly.
TRUE HZRDUS PX4 Professional Goalie Gear
HZRDUS PX4 equipment represents TRUE’s professional-level HZRDUS pad and glove platform. Available products may include custom or stocked leg pads, catchers and blockers.
Selected PX4 blockers use TRUE’s 615 blocker-board construction with a bindingless face, mobile half-piece cuff, straight index-finger protection and Suregrip palm.
Professional TRUE equipment can include detailed specifications that affect fit and performance. Before ordering custom or pro-level gear, review:
- Leg pad size and boot angle
- Pad core and stiffness
- Knee-stack construction
- Strapping configuration
- Catcher break and pocket
- Catcher palm protection
- Blocker palm size
- Regular or full-right orientation
- Colours and graphic selections
TRUE Goalie Leg Pads
TRUE goalie leg pads are available across professional, senior, intermediate and selected junior size categories. Current and recent pad families may include Catalyst 7X6, Catalyst 5X6, Catalyst L87, HZRDUS 7X4 and HZRDUS PX4.
Choosing between TRUE pads depends on more than pad height. Goalies should compare:
- Floor-to-knee and ankle-to-knee measurements
- Overall pad stiffness
- Boot flexibility
- Thigh-rise construction
- Knee-stack position
- Leg-channel and strapping design
- Rebound response
- Butterfly width and ice seal

A pad should be selected according to where the knee lands on the stack and how the pad rotates during movement. Height alone cannot confirm the correct size.
TRUE Goalie Catchers
TRUE catchers are available in several breaks, sizes and equipment levels. Current and recent models may include Catalyst 7X6, Catalyst 5X6, Catalyst Nitro, Catalyst L87, HZRDUS 7X4 and HZRDUS PX4.
Catcher break has a major influence on how a TRUE glove feels. Different break designs change the internal hand angle, closure direction and presentation of the catching surface.
When comparing TRUE catchers, consider:
- Senior, intermediate or junior internal sizing
- Glove break and closure direction
- 590, 580, 600 or other available configurations
- Single-T or double-T pocket construction
- Practice or game-ready palm protection
- Internal straps and hand security
- Regular or full-right orientation

TRUE Goalie Blockers
TRUE blockers are available across professional, senior, intermediate and junior equipment levels. Current and recent options may include Catalyst 7X6, Catalyst Nitro, Catalyst L87, HZRDUS 7X4 and HZRDUS PX4.
Several TRUE blockers use a bindingless board face and mobile half-piece cuff. Palm materials and internal hand positioning can vary by model.
A TRUE blocker should hold the hand securely while allowing the goalie to maintain a comfortable grip on the stick. The blocker should not rotate excessively or push the wrist into an unnatural position.

TRUE Goalie Skates
TRUE goalie skates are known for close-fitting moulded boot construction and a direct connection between the foot, boot and blade. Available models at The Goalie Crease may include Catalyst Nitro, Catalyst 7X6, Catalyst 5X6, Catalyst 7X4 and selected earlier TRUE skate generations.
TRUE skates are available in junior, intermediate and senior sizing. Depending on the model, regular and wide fit options may also be available.
When comparing TRUE goalie skates, consider:
- Measured foot length
- Forefoot width
- Heel shape and retention
- Instep height
- Boot stiffness
- Tongue and ankle comfort
- Holder and replacement-steel compatibility
- Playing frequency and level

Selected TRUE skates are thermoformable. Heat moulding can refine the fit around the foot, but it cannot correct a skate that begins in the wrong size or width.
TRUE Goalie Sticks
TRUE composite goalie sticks are available in multiple paddle sizes, constructions and price levels. Current and recent models may include Project X, Project X Storm and HZRDUS Smoke 9X5, 7X5 and 5X5 sticks.
A higher-level stick may reduce weight and provide a different balance or shaft response, while value-oriented models can offer dependable performance at a lower cost.
Correct paddle length is more important than selecting the highest-level construction. A paddle that is too long can raise the blocker hand and force the goalie into a more upright stance.

TRUE Goalie Pants
TRUE goalie pants provide protection around the waist, hips, kidneys, groin and thighs. Available models may include Catalyst 9X5, Catalyst 7X5 and selected previous-generation equipment.
Goalie pants should sit securely without interfering with the knee guards or upper portions of the leg pads. They must also overlap properly with the lower section of the chest protector.

Senior, Intermediate and Junior TRUE Equipment
TRUE goalie equipment is available across several size categories. The correct category can vary between equipment pieces, and a goalie does not necessarily require the same category for pads, gloves, skates and pants.
Senior TRUE Goalie Equipment
Senior equipment is generally designed for adult dimensions and higher levels of protection. Senior TRUE products may include professional and retail pads, catchers, blockers, skates, sticks and pants.
Intermediate TRUE Goalie Equipment
Intermediate equipment provides dimensions between junior and senior sizing. It may suit teenage goalies, growing players and smaller adults who fit more securely in intermediate gloves, skates or pads.
Junior TRUE Goalie Equipment
Junior TRUE equipment is designed for younger goalies with smaller hands, feet and body dimensions. Junior options may be available in catchers, blockers, skates, sticks, pants and selected pad models.
Equipment should fit the goalie’s current measurements. Purchasing significantly oversized equipment for growth can reduce control, interfere with movement and create gaps in protection.
Regular and Full-Right TRUE Goalie Gear
TRUE catchers, blockers and sticks may be available in regular and full-right orientations.
Regular goalies normally wear the catcher on the left hand and blocker on the right. Full-right goalies wear the catcher on the right hand and blocker on the left.
Always confirm orientation before ordering. Full-right availability may be more limited in certain models, colours, sizes and previous-generation equipment.
Custom TRUE Goalie Equipment
Selected professional TRUE pads, catchers and blockers may be available through a custom-order program. Custom equipment can allow the goalie to select approved colours, graphics, sizing and performance specifications.
The model and functional specifications should be selected before concentrating on the graphic. Important custom decisions may include:
- Pad sizing and thigh rise
- Pad core and boot construction
- Strapping and toe attachment
- Catcher break
- Pocket and T construction
- Palm protection
- Blocker palm sizing
- Regular or full-right orientation
- Colours and graphic zones

Custom equipment may be final sale, so every specification should be confirmed before the order is submitted.
Building a Complete TRUE Goalie Setup
Goalies can build a coordinated TRUE setup using matching pads, catcher and blocker. Matching graphics can create a consistent appearance, but every piece must still be selected according to individual fit.
A goalie may prefer TRUE pads and gloves while choosing skates, a mask, chest protector or stick from another manufacturer. There is no requirement for every piece of equipment to come from the same brand.
When building a complete setup, check:
- Pad and skate attachment compatibility
- Catcher and blocker internal hand fit
- Blocker palm and stick-shaft compatibility
- Pant overlap with the chest protector
- Knee protection and pad interaction
- Overall equipment weight and mobility
Previous-Generation and Clearance TRUE Equipment
The TRUE collection may include previous-generation equipment at reduced prices. Older models can provide excellent value when the available size and specifications fit the goalie correctly.
Clearance pricing should not replace proper fitting. Before purchasing a previous-generation product, confirm:
- The correct size is available
- The model suits the goalie’s level
- The product is regular or full right as required
- Replacement steel or components remain available where relevant
- The item works with the existing equipment setup
- The applicable return or final-sale conditions
Choosing the Right TRUE Goalie Equipment
When comparing TRUE goalie gear, consider:
- The goalie’s age, size and measurements
- Senior, intermediate or junior sizing
- Recreational, competitive or high-level use
- Catalyst or HZRDUS construction
- Preferred pad stiffness and boot flex
- Catcher break and internal hand fit
- Blocker palm size and board balance
- Goalie skate fit and support
- Stick paddle length and balance
- Stock, clearance or custom ordering
Fit should take priority over model level, graphics or price. Properly fitted equipment will generally provide better control and comfort than higher-level equipment that does not match the goalie.
